Just the Animals!
Wednesday Mornings

Come enjoy beautiful mornings in the Barnyard! This program is perfect for all ages (grown-ups included, since parents are always on-site!), and offers an hour of uninterrupted time snuggling baby goats, holding chicks, watching the tortoises munch their veggies, and feeding all the animals in the Barnyard! It's a great fit for new students, and also as a supplement for Barnyard Basics students who want more observation and interaction with the animals. Feed the pigs breakfast from your hands, brush the goats, and gather eggs from the chicken coop. Just the right way to start the day...just the animals.
Recommended for all ages! Cost: $120 for the 6 week program with charter school funds, $96 out of pocket discount.

Thursday Mornings

Chickens, goats, pigs, bunnies, and ducks! This program is an introduction to animal care, including grooming and milking goats, caring for baby animals, gathering eggs, and understanding the symbiotic relationship between chickens and the garden. All learning takes place in the barnyard, surrounded by animals, and often while holding the newest feathered and furry babies born on the farm.
This program is dedicated to teaching, observation, and instruction. Then students are encouraged to apply what they've learned through hands-on experience, asking questions as they interact with the animals, drawing and journaling observations and inspirations, and enjoying the simple pleasures of the farm! Nature journals provided for all students.
Recommended for age 4 and up, younger siblings are always welcome to join at no charge. Parents are always on-site.

Becoming a Farm Hand!

Students looking for more hands-on opportunities to learn how to run a farm, this class is for you! Come help with the daily farm chores, and learn the necessary skills to care for livestock and grow food. This class is designed as a mentorship program. preparing students to step in as a paid farm hand for vacations or whenever help is needed! For ages 10 and up.
Cost: $150 for the 6-week program with charter school funds, $120 out of pocket discount
The Kitten Class! - NEW CLASS STARTING!

Four weeks devoted to all things kittens! We offer this class on a limited basis, when our farm is blessed with a new litter of kitties! We spend the hour snuggling kittens, playing with them, observing their behavior, reading kitten stories, and learning all about cats!
Suitable for all ages!
Cost: $80 for the 4 week course
Living Off the Land!
Monday Mornings

Mondays mornings have never looked so good! Kick off your school week with a unit study on Living Off the Land! This 10-week program allows students to learn core subjects together in the beauty of the outdoors - all while studying what it means to Live Off the Land! Learning takes place on our farm, surrounded by animals and nature. The first hour and a half is dedicated to teaching the new lesson, enjoying hands-on activities and visual aids, and applying what they've learned. Next comes time with the farm animals, visiting with the bunnies, goats, pigs, and more! We finish off each session with lunch together on the field! It's a beautiful morning of schooling, learning, encouraging, and friendship-building! Parents are always on-site.

To allow for plenty of one-on-one instruction and hands-on learning, all child-care programs are limited in size. Iris Farms operates as a parent on-site child care center.
