Programs
Barnyard classes combine a love for nature, animals, journaling, and slowing down together.
Just the Animals!
Come enjoy beautiful mornings in the Barnyard! This program is perfect for all ages (grown-ups included, since parents are always on-site!), and offers an hour of uninterrupted time snuggling baby goats, holding chicks, watching the tortoises munch their veggies, and feeding all the animals in the Barnyard! It's a great fit for new students, and also as a supplement for Barnyard Basics students who want more observation and interaction with the animals. Feed the pigs breakfast from your hands, brush the goats, and gather eggs from the chicken coop. Just the right way to start the day...just the animals.
Recommended for all ages! Cost: $90 for the 6 week program

Barnyard Basics!
Chickens, goats, pigs, bunnies, and ducks! This program is an introduction to animal care, including grooming and milking goats, caring for baby animals, gathering eggs, and understanding the symbiotic relationship between chickens and the garden. All learning takes place in the barnyard, surrounded by animals, and often while holding the newest feathered and furry babies born on the farm.
This program is dedicated to teaching, observation, and instruction. Then students are encouraged to apply what they've learned through hands-on experience, asking questions as they interact with the animals, drawing and journaling observations and inspirations, and enjoying the simple pleasures of the farm! Nature journals provided for all students.
Recommended for age 4 and up, younger siblings are always welcome to join at no charge. Parents are always on-site.

To allow for plenty of one-on-one instruction and hands-on learning, all child-care programs are limited in size. Iris Farms operates as a parent on-site child care center.
